"Step Back in Time - All the charm of yesteryear! Comfy chairs and swings to relax on everywhere. Beach towels, chairs and umbrellas to use. Continental breakfast and an afternoon social with wine, sweet tea, lemonade and various goodies to eat! A beautiful garden, a swimming pool, it's just yards from the beach with private access. Big fluffy post beds! What is there not to love here?!"

"Charming hotel with attention to details! - I loved this hotel! My husband had a stroke, and he has a difficult time getting up and down steps. When I called the hotel to tell them after I made the reservation, they immediately put us on the lower floor, left drinks in our room, and proceeded to give us 30% off our room. Everyone was kind and helpful. They had a private entrance to the beach; umbrellas, chairs, and beach towels were available. The entire stay was awesome!"

"Would Be Happy to Stay Again! - Everything you would want at a bed and breakfast at the beach! Relaxing atmosphere, clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good and the fresh flower decorations were pleasing. The afternoon complimentary wine and snacks were a nice touch too. Barely off the beach that afforded a quiet place. The grounds were immaculate and the free to use beach chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, corn hole boards made the stay even more stress free. Pool was very clean."

"Nice hotel close to the beach - We spent two nights with First Colony Inn and we had a great time The morning breakfast was awesome with a nice selection. The Inn offered at no additional charge: Wi-Fi, bicycles, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and provided beach towels. I guess if I had to complain about something it would be that the TV's are 17" or 19" and need to be upgraded to a larger size. The only way to watch TV was from the bed which was about 15 feet away. I spoke to the Desk Clerk and they were planning to upgrade to a larger TV...just don't know when. We also ate dinner at Miller's across the street. We are planning another trip in the near future and will stay here."

"GREAT ADULT RETREAT - DON'T MISS IT - This is a trip back to the 1930's but with modern amenities. The mornings start with the sounds of waves. The rooms are as thought you are staying at a friends home. A breakfast is kitsch, sausage, scones, and grapefruit . There's more to chose from like cereal, muffins, toast and jams. The table cloths are complimented by the fresh flowers and classical music It's not your Holiday Inn breakfast The staff makes everyone feel at home. Since there are few rooms and most are couples, it feels intimate. A leisurely walk on the beach or coffee by the pool with a good book fill the morning. Don't miss the afternoon "tea" at 3:00 pm. The cheese cake, wines, cheeses and fruit will carry you until your off to dinner. We changed our itinerary and stayed an extra night!"

"Great prices. Across the street from beach access. Nearby great restaurants which is in walking distance. Polite and very friendly staff. Every year family takes a week long vacay...See Sea always is #1. If beach current is too dangerous or if you don't want to swim in ocean a private pool is available. Can't beat it! Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder come see for yourself. Unit 6 is a personal favorite. So check them out. Tell then the Brewton family told you about it. Have fun, be safe, and godbless."

"Excellent experience! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at First Colony Inn for one night before running Outer Banks Marathon on November 10, 2013. We booked the Inn based on proximity to the finish. We enjoyed the afternoon social, clean comfortable feel of the Inn, and the excellent service from the front desk. If we make it back to Nags Head, this is the first place we would look to book."

"I've been working in OBX for the last 23 or so days and have been staying at the See Sea Motel for the duration. While my experience in OBX, as a whole, has been less than desirable due to heavy work conditions (what kind of resort town completely shuts down at 10pm every night?), my stay at the See Sea has been one of the only things that made this trip bearable. The laid back atmosphere gave it a perfect beach experience for those that don't like the pretentiousness of bigger resorts. The building is built so that the pool is the central area, so you will get to know your neighbors whether you want to or not. This was a huge plus for me. I love being able to sit outside my room, drinking a beer with some blues playing and chat with whoever may walk by. Public beach access is directly across the street, and several restaurants are within walking distance. If you are hungry though, just make sure you go to eat before 8. The staff has been fantastic. They've always had an honest opinion about various eateries and attractions in the area, as well as giving their own personal recommendations, which always turned out to be great. If they're available, they'll quickly grab you whatever you need (fresh towels, soap, etc) and have been nothing but pleasant my entire stay. Even going out of their way when some work situations got a little messed up. Susan and Christian have been doing a great job here, making sure the grounds are maintained and free of trash and cigarette butts, keeping the pool clean and the soda machine stocked. When I first arrived, there was an older lady that was managing it, I feel so bad I forgot her name, but she was just wonderful. If you are the kind of person that likes a catered vacation, where everything is perfect and people wear uniforms and call you "sir" and "ma'am", this place is probably not going to be for you. But, if you like a place with a REAL feel, with real people, look no farther. Sure, it has it's little nuances, but it's part of what gives the See Sea it's charm. If I ever get to come back to OBX for a real vacation, the See Sea will be #1 on my list. Thanks guys!"
